To maximise the limited floor space outside the London Eye, a mobile solution was required to reduce queues by 10-20% while improving customer experience and growing sales. Futura's handheld solution enables card sales using chip and pin, captures sales data, adjusts stock levels and allows managers to see which cashier location is most profitable, which products sell best where, and most successful cashier.
A new gift shop at the London Eye had such strong customer demand that queues started forming and led to lost sales. So Mark Railton, Applications Support Manager, challenged Futura to come up with a mobile solution to retain customers and grow sales.
The handheld devices chosen allow managers to see the impact of each mobile till on which products sell best at what time of day, which cashier location is most profitable and which employee made the most sales.
Commented Mark Railton who expects the tills to increase trading and ensure better customer service: "By providing four payment points, we should improve every customer's experience, reduce the numbers walking away, cut queues and improve takings."
Mark Railton added: "A successful outcome will be a 'win win' situation for Futura. If we can prove the concept here, we'll look at trialling it elsewhere - Legoland, Alton Towers or Chessington World of Adventures, who knows?"
